The Lunar New Year is a time to celebrate the rich heritage that makes Howard County so special. This year, we honor the Year of the Snake—a symbol of wisdom, intuition, and transformation. May this year bring happiness, prosperity, and positive change to all!

Our Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community continues to be a cornerstone of our county’s strength and success, with one in five residents identifying as AAPI. True diversity is about more than representation—it’s about creating a sense of belonging. That’s why celebrations like our annual Lunar New Year event are so important in connecting our community and honoring cultural traditions.

Thank you to the AAPI Commission for organizing another incredible event that brings us together every year. We wish everyone a joyful and prosperous Year of the Snake!
